Headline Pictures is an award-winning production company that produces high end drama and comedy-drama that says something meaningful about the world we live in. Our productions have won International EMMYs and have received craft and performance nominations at BAFTA, the Oscars, and the Golden Globes. We work with both established talent and up-and-coming new writers. Our main offices are in London and Paris.

Headline Pictures co-developed and co-produced one of Amazon's most watched dramas THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, has co-produced the crime family drama KIN for AMC and RTÉ (broadcasting in Autumn 2021) and has recently co-produced CALL MY AGENT (UK), the English remake of the French original, adapted by BAFTA-winner John Morton (W1A, TWENTY TWELVE).  Past productions include the International EMMY-winning Peter Pan adaptation PETER & WENDY for ITV, the global box office hit QUARTET directed by Dustin Hoffman and starring Dame Maggie Smith (Golden Globe-nominated for her performance), Michael Gambon, Billy Connolly, Tom Courtenay and Pauline Collins, written by Oscar-winner Sir Ronald Harwood (THE PIANIST); the Charles Dickens biopic THE INVISIBLE WOMAN directed by Ralph Fiennes and written by EMMY and BAFTA-winner Abi Morgan (SHAME, THE IRON LADY, SUFFRAGETTE), the Prix Italia-winning WWII thriller series THE SABOTEURS broadcast on NRK, More4 and across Europe, and Stephen King adaptation BAG OF BONES starring Pierce Brosnan.

Headline Pictures was founded in 2005 by BAFTA nominee and International EMMY-winning producer Stewart Mackinnon, former BBC Head of Drama Mark Shivas, screenwriter Kevin Hood (BECOMING JANE, A ROYAL NIGHT OUT), former producer and project manager Derek Stubbs, and former lawyer Adrian Gifford. Stewart Mackinnon was CEO until Spring 2019, and former Chairman Adrian Gifford remained on the board until late 2020. Derek Stubbs remains as Company Secretary.

Headline Pictures is part of the UGC SERIES group. The UGC theatrical network ranks second in French-speaking Europe and its subsidiary UGC Images is a major French movie production and distribution company. UGC SERIES consolidates five television production companies in Britain and France, creating series for both the domestic and international market.
